It’s time for the identity of our latest curio to be revealed!
If this week’s curio stumped you (dragon’s claw? Drinking horn?), then you’re not alone. But it turns out that what we have here is a male pig’s tusk. Faunal Fun Fact we learned from Dr. Crabtree’s visit last Friday: the tusks of female pigs have roots, while those of male pigs do not – this allows male pigs’ tusks to grow longer!
Check back on Tuesday for next week’s Curator’s Curio. We love reading your guesses and comments, so join in!
